Data Analyst Analytics Support Deloitte Cardiff

A role within the Audit Analytics Support Centre. This role has a particular focus on the new and exciting world of Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The role sits within our Analytics Support Centre, but will work closely with the Deloitte Managed Solutions (DMS) team; which sits in the Risk Advisory group. The role will involve some travel and working in different areas of the UK on placement. The role will also involve working in our Audit Analytics Support Centre, covering a wide array of analytic process and platforms.
Responsibilities

The main activities of the team will include:

In relation to Robotic Process Automation (RPA):

Automating processes from various internal Deloitte divisions, in accordance with standard RPA design principles and conventions
Deploying custom solutions using Robotic Process Automation technology written in a custom Visual Basic-like scripting language. This may periodically involve travel to Deloitte offices throughout the UK and to client sites for larger scale project work.
Verify solutions are accurate and efficient via thorough system testing. Creating and maintaining solution documentation, presenting findings to stakeholders and senior management
In relation to our bespoke audit analytics platform:

Providing first line support to our financial audit teams, providing them with support and guidance in the use of our bespoke data analytics platform.
Communicating data quality or integrity issues effectively with the Audit practice or the client, using proven problem solving skills. This may involve travel to client sites to assist with the data extraction required for manipulation, upload and analysis.
Provide support to Analytics teams in the creation, testing and deployment of bespoke analytic solutions
Typical tasks will include:

Assessing processes and designing suitable applications and or solutions to improve said process.
Creating scripts in languages such as VBscript, JavaScript, DOS batch file programming
Trouble shooting custom software solutions.
Data manipulation using tools such as Excel, and Microsoft SQL.
Performing reconciliations to verify the completeness of datasets provided to you. This task will require a degree of problem solving and the ability to understand basic accounting concepts which will be part of the training provided.
Carry out data quality checks which will need to be raised to the Audit practice or client as appropriate.
Helping the Audit practice troubleshoot first line problems with the system in a call centre type environment.
As part of the on boarding process, significant training will be provided in the common tasks needed to fulfil this role.



Requirements

Degree educated with a 2.2 or above; preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics or Science related. However consideration will be given to other skills.
The ideal candidate would also hold an A or AS level in one of the following subjects, however consideration will be given to other skills; Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computing or Information Technology.
Previous experience of working with a structured programming language such as C#, F#, VBA, C++ would be highly beneficial.
5 GCSEs grades A
‑ C, including minimum GCSE B grades at Mathematics and English (or equivalent).
Be comfortable leading technical conversations with clients.
Individuals should be enthusiastic and have evidence of a flair for problem solving and troubleshooting
A strong knowledge of Excel (VBA and formulae such as SUM, COUNT, IF, VLOOKUP, ISERROR etc…)
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability work in a team
No prior job experience is required, however previous experience working with Excel, SQL or other data manipulation & conversion tools would be beneficial.
