Job Description:
The role of the Director is to implement and drive the Global Quality and Risk Management Strategy for the Valuation and Advisory Services business line. It will require close interaction with both internal contacts and existing clients to ensure consistent and compliant delivery quality and risk management policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and drive the Global Quality and Risk Management Strategy for the Valuation and Advisory Services (VAS) business line.
Liaise with the VAS regional heads and global director to review and provide guidance on managing and assessing Risk within EMEA.
Act as the liaison point between VAS and the Global Risk Management Department (GRM) to ensure all VAS policy and procedure comply with Global Risk objectives and requirements.
Oversee the management of CBRE VAS Company and Appraiser licensing requirements in EMEA (in coordination with the Compliance department as applicable). Work with and participate in industry specific professional association activities.
To liaise with clients as directed with a clear objective of strengthening client relationships through CBRE’s delivery of quality and risk management practices, and engage each region in driving client education / negotiations in order to accomplish best in class risk mitigation provisions in engagement agreements.
Promote the broader CBRE business when dealing with clients and to be aware of cross selling opportunities within the business.
Monitor and communicate changing legislation and circumstances which impact on providing the most current and accurate advice to clients and ensure that all staff attend the required training to maintain this level of professionalism.
Organise and execute a mandatory training protocol for each region which includes coordination with the Legal department on key risk elements in engagement agreements and appraisal forms.
Oversee and manage a review process for all Master Service Agreement contracts (new and existing) including a providing direction on working with clients and legal on modifications concerning reliance, indemnities and limitation of liability.
Help to define the VAS Global QRM Strategy
Enhance and continuously monitor Quality and Risk Management practices
Create and oversee region specific program for implementation of QRM framework for EMEA.
Assist to establish Global risk assessment scoring and framework for all VAS assignments. Devise with the QRM, GRM and legal team an annual risk assessment associated with certain high risk assignments to be identified annually
Implement and oversee implementation of a report review process within EMEA.
Implement and oversee delivery of Development Appraisal Risk Management Process in line with Board recommendations
Implement and manage delivery of CBRE Global Risk Management Department directives for EMEA.
Work with Business Systems team to drive development of quality and risk management tools within VIEW, and ensure through auditing and training that implementation and use of the VIEW platform is undertaken properly by the field so that all relevant information elements are captured by the VIEW
Oversee and manage annual VAS internal audit process in conjunction with the Internal Audit group in order to specifically assess areas of improvement and weakness
Desired Skills and Experience
Seasoned risk management professional or valuation surveyor with demonstrable experience with a valuation or credit background. Previous experience in an EMEA leadership role is highly desirable.
Solid understanding of standard valuation practices, rules and regulations (RICS, ISVC, etc)
Strong leadership, management and business partnership skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to negotiate compromise and demonstrate diplomacy in sensitive situations, and to interact effectively with senior management
Experience with operational risk analysis, process improvement, end-to-end process reviews and process flow mapping
Strong strategic thinking, research, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
Foster partnerships with all stakeholders to contribute to the company’s success
Excellent organizational skills & planning ability
Ability to speak Foreign languages is an advantage, but not essential. However, fluency in English is essential
