Job Description:
You will lead development of the product communications and investment marketing agenda across the UK Wholesale business, ensuring our competitive position is well understood and that our ‘investment edge’ is consistently articulated across all channels and client segments.
Reflecting a high degree of technical investment knowledge and understanding of the UK distribution landscape, you will work collaboratively with our Investment Directors, Sales Teams and Product Development to ensure the Product Marketing team delivers impactful thematic and product-specific arguments which resonate with clients.

Your remit also extends to management of the UK Wholesale RFP function and you will ensure clear and compelling proposals reflect the same strengths and product arguments set down through the investment marketing programme.





Your key accountabilities



Lead the six-strong Product Marketing and Wholesale RFP teams, encouraging a culture of collegiate working practices that are underpinned by a shared vision of evidence-based best practice



Assist in the development and evolution of the UK Wholesale business client engagement strategy



Own client communications processes and activity which support the UK Wholesale proposition, including:

Ensure products are appropriately positioned and differentiated and that our investment capability is clearly articulated and relevant to client and channel needs, providing effective alignment of product features and benefits with sales strategies and marketing communication requirements

Identify and track relevant competitor peer groups and ensure best-in-class sales materials support complementary or displacement product opportunities as relevant

Lead communication workstreams in respect of any new fund launches, closures, portfolio manager transitions or product repositioning relative to in-house or competitor funds, including oversight of any customer testing requirements



Lead a multimedia investment communications programme targeted at the UK Wholesale market built on the principles of awareness, conviction and review, including:

Coordination across stakeholders to agree product priorities and promotional focus as part of the trimester marketing planning process

Lead the i/face with the central marketing team to deliver on the wholesale customer value proposition

Editorial oversight to ensure activity supports a dialogue on topical investment issues relevant to client segments - from market and macroeconomic view and opinion through to trends, approaches and current and long-term arguments for investment

Works with the PR team to develop and deliver the investment editorial agenda

Management of access to portfolio managers and other investment team members to ensure best use of time and resource

Represent UK wholesale in Global thought leadership

Support ongoing strategy development and improvements in execution capability including digital delivery and marketing optimisation

Ensure consistent brand delivery across all communications



Management and development of effective RFP capabilities across UK Wholesale client segments, including

Drive best practice in RFP production and ensure all processes meet necessary compliance and regulatory requirements

Act as UK lead in any global discussions regarding RFP organisation and delivery



Develops the wholesale customer journey, representing our channel needs in any global or industry developments, including 3rd party endorsement / ratings (paid and earned)

Assist in managing our ratings footprint and own budgets

Representative on Global Super Rocks programme



Desired Skills and Experience
Strong technical and investment product knowledge (bonds, equities, property and alternatives)
Proven ability to translate complex investment trends and fund performance/positioning messages into easily digested, timely and interesting communications content

Excellent team and stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to operate to a high level of autonomy with senior colleagues across the investment and distribution businesses

Strong commercial awareness

Attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects

Analytical and process-oriented, with the drive to consistently achieve best practice
