Risk & Process Specialist - UBS Wealth Management - London


Job description
This role is responsible for supporting one of our Global Emerging Markets Desks in their effective evaluation and management of operational risk incurred through the daily activity of their teams.

You will assist in exercising active risk management, interfacing with local GEM management, team heads, desk heads, product and operation team heads, as well as local risk control functions.

You will help ensure that risks are both identified and assessed and that appropriate mitigation and management measures are implemented in a comprehensive, appropriate and forward-looking manner, in accordance with governance principles.

Responsibilities will include:
• Co-ordinating operational risk issues (e.g. SOX, Operational Risk Inventory) b/w the GSA Desk and Front Office Risk Management (FORM)
• Implementing quality assurance for risk issues (e.g. procedural monitoring and control plan implementation and reviews)
• Analysing existing business processes and control procedures

Key Contribution Areas:
Problem Management:
Identifies and accurately records problems and either solves them or escalates appropriately.

Process enhancement:
Identify existing operational processes and actively looks for ways to enhance efficiency of such, therefore providing seamless processes for the Desk

Risk Management and Control Principles:
Compliance with Bank's risk management and control principles, credit and risk policies.Ensures that the team is rated GREEN on all RISK related issues.

Project Planning and Delivery:
Ensures that the project achieves its deliverables in line with programme objectives, design standards, budgets and customer expectations and risk mitigation.

Operational + Market Risk Control:
Identifies and analyses risks, defines risk limits wherever possible and enforces these, draws up solutions for mitigating risks (from training to control stage), and then subsequently implements

Implementation of Agreed Processes and Tools:
Effectively implements and maintains processes and tools.
